Recreation  The Bruce II Sports Centre is a new sports complex with everything you could ever need. The facility includes an ice rink, curling club, 4 lane indoor swimming pool, 6 lane bowling alley, fitness centre and conference facilities. During the winter, the Bruce II Sports Complex has a seasonal schedule that allows for public skating, open bowling and family swimming. The complex also has a duo-curling rink which is operated by the Gateway Curling Club. This Club hosts a number of curling events throughout the season and also has its own sports bar. The 25 metre indoor swimming pool was built in 2002 and has aquatic features such as a children’s slide, kiddies area and whirlpool hot tub. Children and adult swimming lessons are offered year round and recreational swims are offered on a daily basis. The swimming pool is home to the Port aux Basques Piranhas.
